"Dangerous Fun: A Price of Play" A report on the study conducted by CEJAD, IPEN and ARNIKA, assessing the presence of harmful chemicals in children's toys sold in Kenya. The study found significant levels of toxic substances like phthalates, chlorinated paraffins, and UV stabilizers in PVC toys, chemicals linked to serious health risks, especially for children.

These chemicals pose serious health and environmental risks, particularly to children, because of their endocrine-disrupting and bioaccumulative properties. The report highlights the urgent need for Kenya to address toxic chemical use through existing and emerging global frameworks like the Basel and Stockholm Conventions and the negotiated Global Plastics Treaty.
